TRANSFORMERS Generation 1 Returns with Volume 2

They are the first… the greatest… the ultimate generation of Transformers. On April 16, TRANSFORMERS G1 returns…and things will never be the same.
TRANSFORMERS G1 Vol. 2 takes the classic story of the heroic AUTOBOTS and the evil DECEPTICONS to a whole new level. After eons of hostility, a new ruler has emerged from the ashes of conflict to unify the TRANSFORMERS’ home world of CYBERTRON and transform the once war-torn planet into a utopia. Now, this new monarch has come to Earth with his sights set on both OPTIMUS PRIME and MEGATRON’s forces. The ultimatum: Pledge allegiance to his new world order or return to CYBERTRON to be executed as criminals of war. Now fugitives of justice, OPTIMUS PRIME and the AUTOBOTS find themselves enemies of the world that they once risked their lives to defend.
But OPTIMUS and MEGATRON aren’t the only giants who are back in the spotlight. Fan favorite creator and Dreamwave co-founder Pat Lee has returned to pencil the big bots’ latest adventure, and he’s packing in more characters, more detail, and more action than ever before. “I feel great about being back on Transformers,” said Lee. “I have to say it's the best I've ever done and we hope to take you on a crazy ride with the story we have planned.” And speaking of story, spear-heading the adventure is writer Brad Mick, a fresh young scribe who’s a “Transfan” to the core and can’t wait to dig even deeper into the TF universe.
So hold onto you energon cubes as TRANSFORMERS G1 Vol. 2 #1 slams onto store shelves April 16.
